Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is a significant predictor of survival in laryngeal cancer patients: systematic literature review and meta-analysis

چکیده
Background: This systematic literature review and meta-analysis investigated whether the red blood cell distribution (RDW) may predict survival outcomes in laryngeal cancer patients undergoing curative treatment.
Methods: We conducted an electronic search Medline Scopus using keywords “red width” OR “RDW” AND “laryngeal cancer” “larynx carcinoma” carcinoma,” without time or language restrictions (up to February 2022), for identifying studies investigating prognostic value of RDW with any form a primary endpoint that was set as rate and/or disease-free between 1 10 years after treatment. The research according PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses) 2020 reporting checklist.
Results: digital enabled us identify five studies, were finally included our pooled analysis (survival covered window 2.7-8.3 years). In four enhanced surgical radiation treatment associated poorer (range odds ratio [ORs], 2.28-10.44). analysis, increased conferred over 3-fold higher risk dying during follow-up (OR, 3.37; 95%CI, 1.41-8.10).
Conclusion: retains clinically important Clinicians could acknowledge this information more aggressive therapy setting narrower values.

Predictive value of red blood cell distribution width for mortality in patients with acute pancreatitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Background: Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is a quantitative measure of variability in the size of circulating erythrocytes. It has been recently identified as a prognostic marker in several diseases including acute pancreatitis (AP). In this systematic review the prognostic value of RDW in predicting mortality of AP patients will be assessed. Methods: PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, and ISI ...
متن کاملMetadichol® and Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW) in CKD patients
Red blood cells originate in the bone marrow. Red cell distribution width (RDW) show sizes of circulating erythrocytes (RBC) and has been explored in several large clinical databases to be a robust marker of adverse clinical outcomes in patients. The prognostic value of RDW is seen in other conditions with end-organ dysfunction such as renal failure or. Elevated RDW levels are of significance i...

متن کاملEvaluation of the effects of red blood cell distribution width on survival in lung cancer patients
AIM OF THE STUDY Data are available indicating that red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is higher in cancer patients compared to healthy individuals or benign events. In our study, we aimed to investigate the influence of different RDW levels on survival in lung cancer patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS Clinical and laboratory data from 146 patients with lung cancer and 40 healthy subjects we...
متن کاملKRAS and BRAF mutations in Iranian colorectal cancer patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Background: Mutations in the EGFR signaling pathway play an important role in the development of colorectal cancer (CRC). Mutations in these genes, like KRAS and BRAF, affect the treatment strategies and associated with poor prognosis and relative resistance to anti-EGFR therapies. Our aim was to conduct a systematic and meta-analysis on all studies that have been conducted on the prevalence of...
